After very little planning and a sporadic purchase of twin honda ct70’s, Elliott and I were officially underprepared to hit the road. We took the seats out of his mini van, loaded up the bikes and successfully made one turn out of the driveway before they came crashing down in the back. Our tie-down game wasn’t the strongest but we’d have plenty of time to learn over the following months as we made our way through Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, back to Utah, Arizona, and California. Sleeping in an Auto Zone parking lot makes you wonder why you ever left home and waking up in Valley of the Gods makes you wonder why you’d ever need such a thing.
